In Memoriam – Robert (Bob) Patrick Sr.

News

Connect Employment Services is sad to announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Patrick Sr., a founding member of Connect Employment Services (formerly Network South Enterprises).

Bob Patrick Sr. was one of a core group of parents who founded our organization in 1991. Bob and his wife Marion envisioned a life for their son, Bobbie Jr., that included fully participating in work and the community, at a time when there were few community-based options. He strongly believed that people with intellectual disabilities belonged in the community, and deserved supports to work and contribute.

Our thoughts go out to Bob Patrick Sr.’s family, and we remain committed to advocating for Bobbie Jr. and others with intellectual disabilities to live full lives in the community.

In recognition of Bob Patrick Sr.’s dedication to Bobbie Jr. and the ideals of full inclusion for people with disabilities, his family welcomes those wishing to honour his memory to contribute to Connect Employment Inc. He truly believed in the outstanding support the organization gave to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

A celebration of a life well-lived will be held at The Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 3:30–5:30 pm. A link to Bob Sr.’s obituary can be found here:
